Various dates in my life

June 10, 1943 -- born in a farmhouse a couple miles south of Callaway, Nebraska
March 1947 -- moved with family to the James Cornish place about half way between Callaway and                             Oconto, Nebraska.
May 1957 -- graduated from Lower Lodi Grade School with Custer County 8th graders in Broken Bow May 1961 -- graduated from Callaway High School
June 1961 -- started business school at C E School of Commerce in Omaha, Nebraska
August 1962 -- bought first car - a 1962 Rambler Classic, 2-door, stick shift, aluminum engine

September 1962 -- started dating Phyllis Cabbage who started CE School in June of 1962
October 1962 -- Engaged to Phyllis, who grew up in Clarinda, Iowa
October 1962 -- Finished business school, started working for Union Pacific at Omaha Headquarters as       ,                          typist in freight claims department
 February 1963 -- I moved into apartment in house on Harney Street
March 10, 1963 -- Married in Shambaugh, Iowa
April 1963 -- we moved from the apartment to trailer house we bought at 84th & Blondo in Omaha
Summer 1966 -- moved from Freight Claims Dept. to Personal Injuries Dept
March 1965 -- traded the Rambler for a 1965 Buick Skylark - 4-door with automatic

April 23, 1965 -- son Cameron was born in Omaha
October 1965 -- moved from mobile home to house we bought in Millard, NE
May 1967 -- Mom, Dad, brother Darrell & sister Louise involved in accident near I-80 near Seward,                                Nebraska after leaving our place for a "going away" visit in Millard.
June 1967 -- we moved to Salt Lake City, Utah - I took job as Assistant Claim Agent and Private                                    Secretary to the District Claim Agent in Personal Injury and Property Claims
December 30, 1967 --  daughter Michelle was born in Salt Lake City, Utah
January 1970 -- moved to Kansas City, Kansas where I took job as Junior Claim Agent - we rented a                              duplex in Overland Park, KS.
August 1970 -- Quit working for UP and moved to Clarinda, Iowa taking job in accounting with HyGrade                      Food Products, Dry Sausage division.  We rented a farm house SE of Clarinda in East River
September 1970 -- Cameron started grade school in Clarinda
October 1971 -- bought 12 acres of a 160 acre farm, including all farm buildings and house 4 miles west of                           Clarinda. on north side of Highway 2
December 31, 1972 -- quit work at HyGrade Foods
January 2, 1973 -- started working at Clarinda Elevator -- outside salesman and worked around the                              elevator -- worked as assistant to the manager.
September 1973 -- Michelle started grade school in Clarinda
October 1974 -- bought part-interest in and became Manager at Coin Grain Corp. in Coin, IA -- Phyllis                       came to work with me and handled accounting, secretarial and general help.  We remained at our                 home west of Clarinda, driving the 12 miles each way to work for 20 years.
March 25, 1978 -- my Dad - Kermit Miles, died.  I and my brother Darrell were with him when he had a heart attack while writing in his diary about 10:30 at night.
May 1983 -- Cameron graduated from High School -- was in National Guard, went to University of IA
May 1984 - Cameron married Patty Baze in Methodist Church here in Clarinda
October 1984 -- started a sign business in our basement
May 1986 --  Michelle graduated from High School - went to Beuna Vista College in Storm Lake, IA August 1986 --  Phyllis' Dad - Melvin Cabbage, died of sudden heart attack while tending his saddle                                      horses
December 9, 1986 -- my Mom - Pearl Miles, died of heart attack after being in hospital in Callaway,                                 Nebraska couple days.
September 1994 -- after buying out other 4 owners over the years at Coin Grain we sold it, going full time                                 with our sign business.  Built shop and office addition to our house for sign business.
December 1997 -- Phyllis' Mom - Pauline Cabbage, died -- had surgery and 2 follow-ups within 4 hours                              for expanded carotid artery - in hospital in Omaha, NE
May 13, 2008 -- sister Louise Miles, died at West Ridge Nursing home here in Clarinda.  We had been her                            caregivers since 1999 when she became disabled and wheel chair bound.
November 2008 -- sold our sign business to Christianson's across highway from us.
December 4, 2008 -- Fire, starting at my outdoor wood-furnace, burned down garage, sign work shop and                         the office.  We had moved all the business stuff out 4 days before..
January 1, 2009 --I officially retired, taking Social Security at age 66
January 2009 -- we pulled our first travel-trailer to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas to spend winter.
                          Have spent every winter since then in the Valley
March 2010 -- sold our 12 acres west of Clarinda.
March 2010 --  bought mobile home in Kenwood RV Resort in La Feria, TX where we go to at least 5                             months every winter now.
June 2010 -- moved into house in Clarinda, Iowa -- was then across street from farmland.  Now it is across                      the street from Clarinda Regional Hospital.
November 2010 -- started working on modifying what was a deck at our Mobile Home.  In last seven                             years have turned it in to a Texas Room (Sun room) about 2/3 the size of the 64' x 16' mobile                         home
April 2015 -- sold our 32 foot travel trailer and bought 18 foot travel trailer in Eastern Iowa.  Then traded                          our Diesel Ford Excursion and Toyota Sienna for a 1/2 Ton Silverado Chevy pickup.

I don't have specific dates for 2 different carpal tunnel wrist surgeries, two shoulder rotator cuff surgeries, 5 different surgeries to left knee, including partial replacement and then a repair of it 2 years later, surgery for three slipped discs -- including one so old and calcified it had to be chipped out with chisel and hammer.

Just a few dates in my life -- Probably other things I will think of later. -- like the many years we traveled with Rick and Patty Steckelburg to many state Square Dance Conventions and to many National Square Dance Conventions -- including Portland, OR; Oklahoma City, OK; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; and Missouri -- on the State Conventions we went to Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa and probably others I can't recall.  Have been on 6 cruises, traveled in all 50 states--pulling the trailer to 48 of them -- traveled to Mexico City and the winter place for the Monarch Butterflies near there; traveled by buss as far as 700 miles south of La Feria, TX to tour Mexico.  Some of the vehicles we have owned -- 1975  4-door Chevy Impala; 1977  Oldsmobile Station Wagon
