Company today

65º at 9:30 am Thursday as I start this -- predicted high of 76º.  Finally getting back to what would be considered more normal weather for late May!
Did get the glider with redwood refinished with a sealer and it is back
on the deck.  After drying in the sun a bit will be good for using.

The finish was really getting rough after the last 8 years or so.

View from Choir Area

Last Sunday, while our minister was on vacation, this lady, Michelle Drenth, shared the story of "The Unclean Woman" from Mark 5:25-34.
The "other side" of the choir area.

After church we drove south of town to our 80 acre farm and to the east end, which is low without drainage and "Pauline"s Pond" is once again in place.  With copious rain lately, it needs some drying days so renter Dick can get soybeans planted.
There were three ducks swimming near these reeds.

Dagmar Whipple, Jim Whipple, and Robert Whipple

Sunday afternoon we went with our "old" neighbors who lived to the west of our place when we lived in the country west of Clarinda, Jim & Evelyn Whipple and their neighbor Marcene Von Diligan to eat at the Pizza Ranch in Maryville.  Evelyn's 86th birthday was the next day, followed by Marcene's a couple days later.  Jim had turned 89 back in April.  Afterwards we drove east and north of Maryville to near Pickering, MO to Jim's nephew Robert Whipple for a visit.

Well, you didn't know it, but I left and went up to the Education Unit at the old Methodist Church where the Food Pantry truck from Omaha came in.  Only had one 400#  pallet, which had been unloaded before we got there, but helped sort and put items on shelves or in freezer. 4 guys and 3 women showed up.  The truck was a half-hour earlier than he had said he would be.   Is  now 68º outside with sunshine.

Fan cover removed -- the back of the convection oven

Well, the dumafloppy came of the thingamajig in the oven.  Actually the fan for the convection part of the oven lost it's nut holding it on and the fan fell off.  Took the door to the oven of, the cover to the fan, replaced the fan, found the nut laying on the heating coils at the bottom, replaced and seems to be working now.
Tomatoes getting taller every day.
Phyllis' sister Beth and husband Steve, who live near Grand Lake, Colorado, will be arriving after lunch.  They have spent much of this week with their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters.  The will stay here with us until Saturday morning when they return to Omaha to see some more grand kid things.

More later, Lynn
