In Burleson, TX for the night

48 degrees at 10:00 pm as I start this.  Drove just over 700 miles today.  All in bright sunshine, and from southern Kansas on down to Burleson (just southwest corner of Fort Worth, TX) real strong winds.  So glad we didn't pull the trailer this time - would have pulled off the road.  Temperature reached the mid-to-upper 50's in Oklahoma by almost 2:00 pm when we stopped for gas and lunch.

Changed drivers several times and made it in to this motel at 7:45 pm.  Hope to go the next 500 miles to Kenwood RV Park in La Feria, TX (Near Harlingen, TX) before too late in the afternoon tomorrow.

This whole truckload consisted of four tires...........albeit HUGE tires.  On I 80 near Des Moines yesterday in the snowstorm we were driving in.  At this point it was down to not-too-much snow.
On I 80 between Marengo and Des Moines.  Cameron said today they ended up with five inches of the real wet snow.  I thought we had between two and three inches on the pickup when we started out from his place.

Disassembling my Shopsmith V in some bright sunshine at our place in Clarinda Sunday afternoon.

For those of you who don't know what a Shopsmith V is -- here are couple photos of ones for sale on the internet.  I don't have the jig-saw, but do have several other attachments.

I took it apart enough to get it in the back of the pickup, along with a big two-drawer cabinet I have that fits under the tubes and between the legs.

We were only at our house in Clarinda from about 2:00 pm Sunday until 7:15 am this morning.  Friends Patty Steckelberg and Leland and Bonnie Brown visited for a bit around 6 pm Sunday

Hope to write from our home in Kenwood tomorrow or Wednesday.

Lynn
