These two photos
are from our trip
Sunday morning from
eastern Iowa to southwest
Iowa. The snow was from
Des Moines to the east.
This was county truck cleaning the shoulder. Temp was about 31 degrees and 3 inches of snow really slushy |
There was frost on the roof and yard of our Clarinda place when we left 7:15 am on Monday morning.
Drove Monday in sunshine. Stopped south of St. Joe, Missouri for breakfast around 9 am and in Tonkawa, OK about 2:15 pm.
Stayed overnight in Burleson, TX just at the southwest edge of Fort Worth, TX.
Left our motel about 7:30Tuesday morning in heavy fog. Was almost raining, had to run windshield wipers quite often, but it never did rain.
Finally ran in to bright sunshine about 10:00 am and the day got warmer.
We went down 281 this time and came to the Valley near the West end and came across Highway 107 to the east to Santa Rosa about 6 miles north of our RV Park in north La Feria.
Temperature was 82 degrees when we got here.
In Jarrell (rhymes with Darrell), Texas Tuesday afternoon. This store is the town center and it appears it was the whole town. A spot right along Interstate 35.
Stopped Tuesday afternoon in Kenedy, Texas where we got on 281 at Flash Burger restaurant. One of the best hamburgers we have had in a long time.
Think it was a fairly new place, with "young kids" running it Would stop in there again if we had a chance. HERE is their menu on the Web.
Photos of the back of the pickup before we started to unpack. It was packed "clear full" and could only hold small stuff between the spaces.
After 12 days/11 nights away from home here in Texas it was nice to get a good night's sleep last night. Will get back in to the swing of things here. Got the pickup unpacked and will get some photos of the ShopSmith when it is together and the new Lazy Boy in place.
Later, Lynn
