Wednesday Dec 11

50º and overcast here in La Feria, TX at 9:30 am Wednesday.  Just checked and Clarinda, IA is 27º.

For you California people -- where I saw gas at $3.70 -- gas is $2.24 at many stations here, with $2.09 seen at a Walmart Murphy station.

This, and two photos
below, were taken at
stretching exercise this
morning.

I went to Barbershop Men of A-Chord practice in McAllen Tuesday afternoon.  Left and below are some shots taken at practice.

This Blogger acted up when I was writing the last post and I got stopped about when we were getting to the airport in San Diego.  Above is a meatball sandwich cooking in an open oven.  Ate while we were waiting for our plan from San Diego to Houston.

These two photos were taken in the large plane we were on for about 3.5 hours San Diego to Houston.

This is the much smaller plane
from Houston to Harlingen.  Think we were
actually in the air only about
55 minutes.

Rather cold here, and to be so most of the week.  Many people arrived here in the park during the nearly-three weeks we were gone.  I have Men of A-Chord practice tomorrow morning and then we perform Friday night in McAllen at Illumina Fest 2019 which is at Quinta Mazatlan.  They are having a two night festival and programs by local people from 7 pm to 10 pm Friday and Saturday.  We will do about a 20 minute program of 8 songs, including some Christmas songs.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  All I Needed to Know About Life I learned from Santa::
  • - Encourage people to believe in you.
  • - Always remember who’s naughty and who’s nice.
  • - Don’t pout.
  • - It’s as much fun to give as it is to receive.
  • - Some days it’s OK to feel a little chubby.
  • - Make your presents known.
  • - Always ask for a little bit more than what you really want.
  • - Bright red can make anyone look good.
  • - Wear a wide belt and no-one will notice how many pounds you’ve gained.
  • - If you only show up once a year, everyone will think you’re very important.
  • - Whenever you’re at a loss for words, say: “HO, HO, HO!”
We, your cats,
at Christmas say,
Thanks for caring
for us each day.
We love this season,
all green and red,
And by the way,
the hamster’s dead.
