52º with heavy overcast clouds and intermittent drizzle at 8:45 pm (Oh yeah, it is also very dark) here in La Feria, TX.
This was taken just before noon today out our back door. The standing water is about 4" deep at bottom of steps. The ground is so saturated new rain doesn't have much of a place to go!
Did get the cover off the friend's golf cart we are keeping for him and get it charged up. Will use it some to keep it up to charge until he comes in February and will take it to his park.
We were able to go to our first, of the season, Barbershop Chorus practice today in McAllen. Had a larger group than at any time last season. The local Sweet Adelines lady barbershop group has folded after their director passed away and several of the ladies are attending; and, think they will have more join us soon. We already practiced on the risers and, I think, sounded good for only the second practice session of this season.
Our director, Bob Lemkuil, is having his
86th birthday next Monday and has invited all of us, and spouses, to a Dutch Treat lunch next Monday at an Italian restaurant in McAllen. Sounded like some 24 or so will attend.
We all enjoy and admire Bob.
After Men of A-Chord practice we dropped Bob Wiese off at Snow to Sun RV Park and then went to the new Gatti's Pizza in Weslaco for supper. Got info from them on possibly renewing our old tradition of having Bingo and then a meal with our Kenwood Park people once a month, which we had done for years in the Harlingen's Gatti's until they closed during Covid-19.
Saw photo at left on the Internet. So, it must be real; suppose it was preparing for a hurricane.
Look at those temps -- to be 68º tomorrow and 80º Thursday with the clouds finally leaving. Then 72º on Saturday with SUN, SUN, SUN!
Today's high if 52º is the first time it has been out of the 40's since we got here a week ago today!
Happy Thanksgiving to all,
LC
