We spent time with Beth & Steve Sunday evening through Thursday morning.
Went to Lincoln, NE Wednesday - single lanes on Highway 2 east | of Missouri River. |
Passed at least 2 dozen Model A cars that were heading to Lincoln. They had been in Clarinda earlier in the week and were making a tour around Iowa and Nebraska.
Ate at the Mexican Restaurant here in Clarinda Wed evening |
Thursday I rode my Recumbent Trike to the Methodist Church where they have the Food Bank and helped unload the truck and put stuff in freezers and on shelves.
Finally finished cleaning the roof on the travel trailer today.
I have been protecting two small tufts of what looked like pine trees by the shop cement apron and today I finally transplanted one to where I hope it will get some height.
With the Gregorys here we missed square dance and choir practice Wednesday evening. We are leaving in the morning for Marengo, IA to spend time with the kids, grandkids and great granddaughter. Should mention that we stopped in east Lincoln at Sam's Club and they had Christmas stuff on the front display behind the registers--don't know what happened to Halloween and Thanksgiving.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A pastor, known for his lengthy sermons, noticed a man get up and leave during the middle of his message. The man returned just before the conclusion of the service. Afterwards the pastor asked the man where he had gone."I went to get a haircut," was the reply."But," said the pastor, "why didn't you do that before the service?" "Because," the gentleman said, "I didn't need one then."

Kofi walks in to a restaurant and wants to order chicken. Unfortunately, English is not his first language and he can't remember how to say chicken in English. Kofi sees the guy at the table next to him with a plate with 4 boiled eggs on it. Kofi points to the plate of eggs and says to the waiter, “I want their mother!"

Maybe more later, Lynn
