In Kansas!

61º here near Tescott, KS with heavy overcast at 2:51 pm Monday as I start this.

Left our packed-up house in Clarinda about 9:30 am Sunday and drove to near Hiawatha, KS, arriving about noon at Harold & LaRhoda Neher's place.  Had been misting since Saturday morning at Clarinda and we never ran out of - with continual mist until nearly at Tescott.  We are parked the camper by their shed and ate lunch with them and then played 6 or 8 games of Pegs & Jokers.

After a little rest in late afternoon we went with them to Hiawatha, KS to a soup supper fund raiser for musical group of the high school.

After some delicious soup served to nearly 300 people, the kids entertained and they also sold off some pies and cakes.  Lots of pies went for $40 or $50 with one at $210 and many over $100.  All for a good cause.
After breakfast with the Neher's we drove about 200 miles to near Tescott, KS and had lunch with Bill and Kathy Connelly.  Bill has had a rough summer -- spending much of it in the hospital with complications after back surgery; but is doing well now.

I went with Bill on the four-wheeler to check cattle and he picked up neighbor Dean Martin who helped catch a calf born yesterday and ear-tag him.

Dean is planting wheat -- he is broke down right now and doing some repairs at Bill's while I am on computer in the trailer.  Phyllis went with Kathy in to Salina.

A couple-week old calf that was an apparent twin and
the mother wouldn't claim him so Bill is bottle feeding him.

We decided to stay in Bill & Kathy's yard overnight so are parked.  When they get caught up with things we will play some Pegs & Jokers.  They leave at 7:30 in the morning on a 3-day bust trip up into Nebraska so we will say our good buys tonight and head out in the morning for Logan, New Mexico tomorrow night.

Later, Lynn

"Paint" by numbers - on the smartphone

Recent weeks I got into several apps of paint by numbers and Phyllis also picked up on it.  Our phones are tied together, so saved pictures...
