Nice cool August Day in Iowa

77 degrees at 5:00 pm here in Clarinda, IA -- been nice and cool and sunny all day.

Ate on the deck at noon; first time in a while. Lunch included some cheesy Zucchini (Phyllis traded some pie for the Zucchini with neighbor Carol) Was cool and pleasant.  To remain that way for a few days, but to be 93º Sunday and 94º Monday.

Yesterday I gathered several gas containers to take with us Friday when we get gas at Sam's Club in Omaha -- Gas Buddy shows $2.88 there now and it is $3.28 here in Clarinda.  Will have some containers to put on back of travel trailer for the generator and others for lawn mower gas here at home.

I scrubbed all the plastic gas containers with soap and water using a tooth brush and paper towels.

The containers haven't looked this clean in at least the last twenty years!

This afternoon I took the recyclables (plastic, paper & cardboard, tin/aluminum cans, and glass) to the container about 2 blocks away at the Fareway Grocery Store.

The Black-Eyed Susans are brilliant in color.  Photo does not do justice.

Got this photo from Ashley of the kids on their way back to Marengo, IA this last Saturday.

Till next time, Lynn

"Paint" by numbers - on the smartphone

Recent weeks I got into several apps of paint by numbers and Phyllis also picked up on it.  Our phones are tied together, so saved pictures...
