To Omaha yesterday

76 º in Clarinda, IA at 9:45 am Tuesday June 8th
Here is the Wunderground forecast for Clarinda this week.  Note Wed 86º, Thur 95º, Fri 98º, Sat 99º, Mon 92 then Tue 86º with rain.
Forecasters aren't always right, right?  Maybe it won't be this hot.  We start working in the air conditioned high school auditorium and gymnasium while we "ush" for the Glenn Miller Festival, so might survive.

By comparison, here is the forecast
for where our Texas home is locatedin La Feria.  Of course it is usually more humid there; for instance, they show 84º right now but a
"feel like" of 92º.  Here in Clarinda it shows
76º with a "feel like" of 78º.

Monday I finally got around to seeing why we weren't able
to get much water flow into the stool in the travel-trailer.
This is the screen at the valve that lets the water into the
stool.  Full of stuff!  Think this will take care of it.  We
had also had a flow problem at the kitchen sink,
but had taken that screen out and cleaned.  This one was
hard to get to, and I wasn't sure where it was until
consulting the book on it.  (That's a new one -- reading
instructions!)

For the last 10 days I have been
working on a book for the Callaway, NE,
1961 Class Reunion - "55 Years"
It is 20 sheets, double sided,
with both colored on some
pages and just black & white
on some pages.  With the Brothers
toner printer is much less
expensive to print the B&W while
I use the Epson 1400 for the colored sheets.

Here is one of the 39 pages, the one with my
story and that of Gary Street.  Also mention the
four who did not respond with stories; that is
out of 21 currently living.  Nine have passed
since graduating.

This is inside the back cover - our
50th Reunion five years ago.  Sad
note is that three of these are now
deceased.

Yesterday we took our friend
Roberta Rarick to Omaha for Outpatient
Surgery on an ear.
She was advised to not be alone overnight
after having been under anesthesia so
she stayed overnight with us.  We ate breakfast
on the back deck, listening to the birds.
Everything went fine and she is back home now.

This is the little "cherry tomato" plant
that I just put in the ground last
week.  It is nearly double the size.
Couple of the four bigger ones are
still suffering a bit from the 2,4D
that the yardman got on them.  Leaving
them in the ground for now to see
how much they may recover.

More later, Lynn
