Pictures above and below were all taken in the dining room.  We had a delicious dinner and a good visit during the meal.

It was a delightful day to see old friends and we enjoyed our time with them.

As we were leaving, Bobi took some treats with her to give to the dog a couple patios down the way from theirs.

Back in Clarinda, IA after a month with the trailer

87ยบ here in Clarinda, IA with high humidity and bright sunshine.  We are Home!
Got here about Noon after stopping at the airport where they have an RV dump and we drained the grey and black tanks.  Parked the trailer away from the shop so we can roll out the awning and dose it with Clorox to remove the gunk from it.

We traveled 3,318 miles in the 28 days we were on the road.  Gasoline prices were interesting.  Clarinda - $2.45; Altoona, ia $2.40; Cedar Rapids, IA $2.42; Morton, IL $2.60; Vedersburg, IN $2.60; Spiceland, IN $2.60; Columbus, OH $2.18; Polaris, OH $2.17; Hartland, MI $3.10; West branch, MI $2.70;  Macinac City, MI $2.76; Menominee, MI $2.72; Egg Harbor, WI $2.55; Abrams, WI $2.60; Hayward, WI $3.55; Hayward, WI $2.53; Cloquet, MN $2.43; Pequat, MN $2.40; Little Falls, MN $2.46; Albert Lea, MN $2.60; Williams, IA $2.40; Creston, IA $2.33.  We unhooked and set up the trailer 5 times and 4 times we left it hooked to the pickup.

Looks like it will cool off here for a couple days.

We got to Twila Oberholzer's place southwest of Boone, IA about 4:30 Wednesday and she drove us in to Boone to eat at Saints Avenue Cafe Buffet.  Spent the night in her driveway and she at breakfast with us this morning.

These bright yellow flowers greeted us today in the back yard.

The neighbor mowed the front lawn a few times, but we hadhim leave the back yard.

Brother Darrell is being threatened by a hurricane Dorian and may flee their place tomorrow.
After being gone a month, we will take a bit to adjust to being here at the house.

In Princeton, MN

65 degrees with rain in Princeton, MN at 3:00 pm Monday.  Got here about 12:45 pm; drove in rain all the way from Browerville, MN where we spent the night in the driveway of Doris & Lyle Winter.  Had started raining in the night and we have been in it ever since.

Got there around 4:30 pm Sunday after leaving the Lakes Bluegrass Festival in Pine Lake, MN where we had been since last Tuesday.  Played a lot of Pegs & Jokers with the Winters last evening and had a great, big supper.

Will have to finish this later---
Is now 10:pm.  Went out to eat about 25 miles south of here with Dick & Deane and then have played several games of Pegs & Jokers.

Cool, great weather at Lakes Bluegrass Festival in Pine Lake, MN

66 degrees with bright sunshine and a little wind here at the Lakes Bluegrass Festival in Pine River, Minnesota at 11:30 am on Friday.  Weather has been fantastic -- cool.  Last night we watched/listened to the bluegrass bands until 10:45 pm and it was 52 degrees and bone chilling cold if you were sitting still.  Had some extra coats, but will wear more tonight.  Had the electric mattress on as we as the furnace last night.

Drove to the town of Nisswa, MN about 30 miles south of us Thursday.  They were having Turtle Races that day about 1 pm which drew a big crowd.

Ate lunch there and then walked quite a few curio, boutique, tourist shops.

Yesterday we drove the area, ending up about 10 miles north at Backus, MN and looked up the place where Deane & Dick Messer's daughter, Missy, just bought on Pine Mountain Lake.  Visited with her a bit and she gave us a tour of the place.  Fabulous place and will make them an eventual retirement home.  For now it is a "get away" place, as they are still working and live down in Princeton, MN

Wednesday evening a local band held a free country/polka dance.

Below are photos of the four bands that performed from 5 pm until 10:40 pm

Have taken videos of some of the performances and intend to upload them to Youtube and also convert them to audio MP3 so can listen to them in the pickup as we are driving.
Schedule has 11 am until 11 pm today, with breaks, and again Saturday.

The Lakes Bluegrass Festival has provided a WIFI so I am doing this at a bench behind the CD sales table for the bands where I found an electric plug in and have a good signal; am only a ittle ways from the stage so am also listening to the music
