Kenwood RV 2019 Summer Rally at State Center, IA

11:00 am in Kelo RV Park in State Center, IA at the Kenwood RV Park 2019 Summer Rally.  Has been warm, but nice weather.  Did have a storm move through about 10 pm last night, and from the sound of the rain on the roof of our trailer, wouldn’t be surprised if we got an inch of rain.  Crops look great in this area.
Picture taken when we visited Bill Oberholzer Friday afternoon in his hospital room in Des Moines.  He was feeling quite chipper then.  He passed away about 7:30 am the next morning, Saturday.

Here are some photos when we were at the field for the National Balloon Festival in Indianola, IA on Friday evening.

Friday evening they had a contest where the balloonists (over 100 registered) went up wind and tried to drop a bag on a target in the middle of the field.  Several came real close and many no-where close.

Saturday afternoon/evening 4 skydivers from Des Moines parachuted over the field, swerving and twirling as they came down..

Lots of food vendors on site.  We enjoyed a pizza from this wood-fired brick oven on one truck on Sunday.

Most of the trailers and motor-homes are here now – I think 12 or 13.  We all went to Pizza Ranch in Marshalltown last night for supper and then came back and played some pegs & jokers and also Ed Stanger served ice cream and cake for Dave Gilmore, who will have a birthday in a few days.  I missed it, but couple guys went out to one of Lola’s farms and picked up sweet corn that the renter had already picked, and brought it back yesterday.  They shucked some of it this morning for boiling for supper tonight.  I understand Bud and Roberta, from Illinois, got here this morning, but he wasn’t feeling good, so they went back home.  Couple of couples who will be staying in Marshalltown motels will be arriving today and tomorrow.  We have found that Bill Oberholzer’s Celebration of Life will be Thursday afternoon in Boone and we are all planning on going to it.

Until later, Lynn
