Mid-February

62 degrees and very foggy as I start this at 7:00 am Tuesday.  Car temp showed 93 when we were driving yesterday near McAllen.

Phyllis was Master of Ceremonies Sunday
evening as she and 2 other ladies
put on the Valentine Supper at the
Rec Hall here at Kenwood RV Park
in La Feria, Texas
Rev. Baker giving
blessing just before
the meal.
 Caterers from McAllen
served a good meal.
With two doing the
serving and three doing
the dishing up in the
kitchen it took a little while to
serve everyone.

Phyllis had the crew come out of recognition
and they were given an envelope
containing the tip.

Our tickets for the evening were $10 each
and that included meal, tax, and tip.
Meal was Cordon Bleu with mashed potatoes,
green beans, and green salad.  It hadn't included desert, so the three girls made pink cake that they had set at each place.

Lavin played the
piano before supper
and during the program
as needed.
 Kath Saunders
did a song/dance
routine

Kathy Connelly read a poll
that had been published on
most searched web sites from
each state for Valentine gifts.

Phyllis read a Valentine Poem
 Darlene Winslow did a routine
where she sang to a CD while
pulling various items from her
bra (including golf club, many vinyl records, photos, neck ties, a full length fishing pole.

The song had a sad ending
and Darlene did an
appropriate crying bit.

A drawing was held
for the raffle on several
blankets and sewn items
by the Car and Share group.
Think they said over $500
was raised - which goes to
buying materials for the hundreds
of quilts they give to charitable groups
every year.

Had a brilliant sunset last night,
though this photo doesn't catch
a lot of it -  wasn't able to get
to a place where could get
good shot of it.

This is the fog out our
back door at 7 am this morning
This shows the
humidity at
7:00 am.

Oh yeah, I have gotten a little
work done in the Texas Room.  Getting
a breaker box put in and may, some day,
even get it hooked up replacing the
extension cord now powering everything
in that room from a plug in on the
outside of the end of the mobile home!

Yesterday we drove to McAllen to LazyBoy store, looking to replace the recliner of Phyllis'.  They are good and sturdy but a little on the high side.  Will do some comparing of other furniture stores and see what we will do.  Patty Steckelberg is coming in to Harlingen Air Port just after noon on Thursday.

More Later.
