Hot, hotter and then hotter.

 

At left was about the time we got home Sunday from Marengo -- 99º with a "feel like" of 120º.  Has been very hot and humid since.  The Weather Channel App on my phone shows 93º right now with a "feel like" of 111º.  Had a short breakout rain that gave us just under a tenth of an inch this mid-afternoon.

Well, as per usual, I got sidetracked - it is now 9:45 pm and temp outside is 85º with "feel like" of 101º so guess it has cooled off a bit, but is sure muggy outside!

Saturday morning we attended long-time friend Roberta Rarick's funeral here in Clarinda.

Then headed to Marengo, IA.

Got to Cam's place, where Heath, Ashley & David were waiting.

You would think David & Jessica hadn't seen each other for a week!

We headed down to Williamsburg, Iowa where we got the grand tour of the new "to them" house of Derek and Emy's.

We had supper at a Mexican Restaurant there in Williamsburg.  Delicious food -- servings were huge and we only ate half of ours, taking a box for the rest.  Then, darn it, we forgot it Sunday and left it in the refrigerator there, not realizing it until we were in Des Moines and the 200 mile round trip would not have been worth it.  But I sure missed the rest of my seafood supper!

and big filled with seafood, shrimp, scallops,
 and lots of other stuff.  Half of it was left over.

Back at the house we played Pegs & Jokers with the kids.
