October is here!

88º here in Clarinda, IA at 4:00 pm Wednesday. To remain warm until Sunday and cool off some next week, it looks like.

I am still cutting down trees on the farm.  Worked an hour or so yesterday morning before we left for Omaha for a doctor appointment.

I discovered another thorny tree and have decided it is a "Thorny Honey Locust" Click HERE for description
They are a devil to work with and I am only cutting a band and treating with Tordon RTU to kill the tree.  When crop is out and have plenty of room to drop the tree without falling on me, I will try to get rid of them.  I think there are three of them on the west fence line.  Not sure if that will be yet this fall or next spring.

Got my hair chopped off a little this morning out on the back deck.
