Surprise 75th Birthday party

88º now at 10:15 am Monday in Clarinda, IA

We will be in Wahoo, NE the rest of the week with trailer at a music festival at the Wahoo County Fairgrounds.  -  Temp doesn't look too bad, but rain - and we will be on
grass with our trailer - guess we will just have to see how it goes.

Friday afternoon our daughter Michelle from Columbus, OH showed up.  I knew that son Cameron and his wife were going to be here on Saturday for Father's Day weekend so they could visit here and also at Patty's parents here in Clarinda.  After lunch Phyllis wanted to take Cam's and Michelle up to our new First United Methodist Church to show them the facilities.  During the tour I was surprised to see our Texas neighbors, the Neher's from Hiawatha, KS there along with Donna and Burl Penny from St. Joe, MO, also Winter Texans.  And then other people started drifting in.  In a little while my brother Don and wife Vicki, from Cape Girarardeau, MO came, then my brother Darrell, from Leesburg, Florida and wife Lin and son Jonathan drove in.  Soon all sorts of people from the church and square dancers here in Clarinda came in and soon brother Roger from Lincoln, NE with wife Carolyn, daughter Angie and Angie's son Michael came.  Then Roger's son Keith and wife Becky from Lincoln showed up.  It seems this had been planned.  Found that Phyllis had been working on it for more than a month.  My 75th Birthday was June 10th and she was able to get the out-of-town relatives to be here for Father's Day Weekend.  I think something over 40 people came and Ice Cream and cake was served.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( If your next pot of chili tastes better it is probably because of something left out rather than something added.

- In a hierarchical organization, the higher the level the greater the confusion.

- In any household junk accumulates to the space available for its storage.

- In any hierarchy each individual rises to his own level of incompetence and then remains there.

- In case of doubt make it sound convincing.

- It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong, and an even bigger one to keep his mouth shut when he's right.

  1. Surprise 75th Birthday party looks so adorable. It was a big event my friend. I had an amazing time watching these photos. Our grandparent’s 70th wedding anniversary is also coming and we all are super excited because we have been planning a surprise gold themed party at a garden event space San Francisco.
