Heat is coming.

85º in Clarinda, IA now at 7:15 pm Thursday.

As you can see by the chart at right, it is to be warm the next several days--skirting with 100º.

While we were in Marengo, IA last Monday night there was a strong storm in Clarinda.  We only had smaller branches and twigs down at our place, but many places in the northern part of town had some huge trees downed.

This photo is from Monday evening in Marengo when our youngest granddaughter, Emily - in the center - was inducted into the PEO chapter in Marengo that her mother belongs to.  Phyllis has been in PEO here in Clarinda for many years.

Taken today -- one tomato turning red!

Today is Flag Day

Helped unload the food truck at church
and put items on the shelves.
Went to Villisca at noon and ate lunch with Oliver & Mary Jo Herzberg at the restaurant and then spent a short time at their house, eating the lemon pie that Phyllis had taken.  Oliver is slowing down and didn't feel he had the energy to play cards.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A big game hunter goes on safari with his wife and his mother-in-law. One morning, the wife wakes up to find her mother gone. Immediately, she awakens up her husband and they both set off to find the old woman.Suddenly, they break into a clearing and there's the mother-in-law, standing face-to-face with a ferocious lion!  "Quick, darling," the wife shouts frantically, "Do something!" "Oh, no," the husband says, "That lion got himself into this mess. Let him get himself out!"

Later, Lynn
