In Marengo, Iowa

64 degrees here in Marengo, IA as I start this at 9:30 am Saturday.  Rained last evening and through the night, but sun trying to come out now.

Jessica zonked out.
Took our leisurely time driving the 230 miles from Clarinda to Marengo by using all county and state roads Friday morning.  This is our son, Cameron with his granddaughter Jessica late Friday afternoon in their living room.
At supper in Amana - Jessica with her aunt Emily and GGrandma Phyllis

Half our table - Jessica's mom Ashley, Cameron and his wife Patty

The other half - Lynn, Phyllis, Jessica and Emily

We were served "family style" at the Ox Yoke Inn.
Great food and plenty of it.

Three happy, stuffed from supper people.

BBQ & tenderloin sandwiches
Speaking of eating, we stopped at a cafe in west Grinnell, IA (from Our Iowa restaurant book) for a great meal at noon Friday.  We got a tenderloin sandwich and a bar-b-cue sandwich, then halved each to share, along with an order of onion rings.  Was good food -- we used the $5 coupon for this cafe to buy a bottle of the Barbecue Sauce that they had -- really good...........

Picked up a lot of small twigs
and limbs from over-winter.

The Hosta plants on the east side of the shop are just starting
their spring growing.

At Circle 8 Square Dance Wednesday - Chris Wildhagen
from St. Joe, MO was the caller.

Phyllis with Mary Jo and Al - Oliver & Cecil in back

This bushy pine was transplanted from 8,000 feet elevation
in Colorado to our back yard 3 years ago.  Think it has
finally taken root -- now to get some size!

Bush by deck is just blooming out.

More Hostas - these north of the house.

This pine tree from Colorado
was also planted 3 years ago

Second pine tree from Colorado -
Maybe these buds are alive, I don't know.

Sun is out and Cam is mowing - 10:30 am

Turning at far end of yard, near railroad track.

Emily is showing Grandma stuff on little computer.

Is Grandma learning??????

Spent time Thursday taking apart the faucet in the kitchen
sink - only to realize the leak was at the washer near the sprayer end.
Thursday we took Roberta to a hair apointment.

Lots of flowering trees in Clarinda.

More of some kind of flowering ground cover in
the back yard.

Will post again.  Lynn
