At our summer home in Clarinda, IA

43º here in Clarinda at 9:15 am Thursday as I start this.  Was 39º when we got up a little after 7 am.

Click on any photo to enlarge.

This was out the bedroom window this morning.  I have gone out and spread the leaves out to dry some that are accumulated around the raised area.  They are really wet -- will suck them up with the Worx vacuum that chops them up so can put behind the hedge.

Tuesday morning we headed north from Chickasha, OK and
after going north quite a ways on state roads decided to go
all the way to Clarinda, so got on I35, including the Tollway
and drove over 500 miles - getting to Clarinda about 6:30 pm.

Was still daylight, so drove to the airport where there is an RV dumpsite
and then parked in the driveway so could unload the trailer.before dark.

Highest gas we saw since leaving south Texas -- right here in Clarinda.
Had paid from $1.98 to $2.20 -- with hard winds on Tuesday it ate up a lot of gas.

Wednesday morning finished unloading everything from the trailer, including the
refrigerator/freezer and parked the trailer on it's site until our next outing.

With all the rain we have had, the lawn is really green and growing.
Will probably get on the riding lawn mower later today.

One of the local apple trees with blossoms.
Went to choir practice last night at the church, then stopped at
Roberta Rarick's for a bit.  She is getting ready for a trip east
to be with her kids and grand-kids in New York state
and will be gone for about 10 days.

We have pretty much opened up the house (turned on the water, taken down the insulation or solid drapes over the windows/doors, lit the water heater, picked up the mail and re-started delivery, started delivery of local newspaper (have been getting over the Internet during the winter), restarted pickup of garbage, etc, etc.)

Talked with some people in Kenwood RV - Helen Miles fell and had ambulance come to pick her up from a fall -- happened while electricity was out during a storm.  Talked with Bill Oberholzer - they are still at the park until near the end of May; Darlene Winslow called this morning, they had flown home to northern Michigan yesterday -- they woke up to snow on the ground this morning.
Warmer weather ahead - this is the 10 day forecast
for here in Clarinda, Iowa.
More later, Lynn
