Finish up on our 2022 Branson Trip

64 degrees with bright sunshine at 11:30 am Sunday in Clarinda, IA.  Had nice weather all week when in Branson and yesterday driving the 351 miles between Ozark Country Campground in Branson and our driveway.

Have to post some more photos of Jimmy Fortune show; these taken by someone from a different spot in the auditorium.

Friday afternoon we drove around part of Branson and out to Table Rock Lake where the Branson Belle Showboat docks.

Friday evening we went to our last Larry's Country Diner show in Branson.  The Malpass Brothers were on the show along with Leona Williams..  Click HERE for Wikipedia on her.  She was born just 6 months before me, was with Loreta Lynn when she first started, wrote many songs and performed with Merle Haggard for many years and was married to him from 1978 to 1983.

The Malpass Brothers opened shows for Merle Haggard for many years Click HERE for story on the Malpass Brothers.

The three of them sang many songs that Leona had written, and many that Merle Haggard had sung.

A really good show.

Our setup for the 5 nights in Branson.  We ate only 2 meals away from the trailer.  Restaurant prices seemed pretty high!

This morning after getting

home from church and singing

in the choir.

We head to eastern Iowa this Friday to

spend weekend with the kids and family.

Jimmy Fortune and Rhonda Vincent - in Branson

60 degrees at 10:00 am here in Branson, MO -- a little cooler.

Rhonda Vincent wore a dress last night that was much brighter and more "sparkly" than these pictures.  I am trying to have Phyllis get one like it---not successful so far!

She and her band, The Rage, put
on quite a show at Larry's Country Diner show at the Clay Cooper Theater in Branson last night.

Thursday afternoon we went to the Jimmy Fortune show, and who came in to sit in our row?  Al & Carolyn Ruhde from Shenandoah -- who we hadn't seen yet this summer.  The girls caught up on all the old news and following the show we went for a bite at Arby's and had this picture below taken.

This is Ivy Phillips, who often accompanies Jimmy with her fiddle.  We had seen her in Clarinda and Braddyville, IA when she was performing with "High Road", a band headed up by Sarah Davidson originally from Braddyville, over the past several years.
Ivy does amazing harmony with Jimmy and also is an excellent fiddle player.  The whole performance was quite good, with Jimmy singing many of his popular songs, many of which he had written.

Looking forward to seeing the Malpass Brothers and Leona Williams on The Larry's Country Diner Show.

Will head north with the trailer tomorrow morning.

More shows in Branson

63ยบ with bright sunshine here in Branson, MO at the Ozark Country Campground - CLICK HERE to see where we are at.

Yesterday afternoon we saw the Hughes Brothers show at their own theater here in Branson.  CLICK HERE for their website.  We counted close to 50 entertainers, all the 4 brothers who are here and their families.  They have large families!  And, one of the 5 brothers is living in California - don't know how many kids they have.  They moved there from Branson to be near his wife's family.

Fast paced program with a lot of costume changes and all the kids, and two of the wives, being involved in everything from dancing, singing, playing fiddles and other stringed instruments.

Last evening we returned to the Clay Cooper Theater for another Larry's Country Diner show.

The Isaacs (Click HERE for their website) put on quite a show.  A mother with her two daughters and son have a very successful music enterprise and they were no disappointment last night.  Ben has a recording studio and records for a lot of musicians.

We were able to see this family last
year when we were at The Arc.
Lilly, the mother, has quite a story
about her parents and relatives
in the Holocaust, many who
did not survive. Click HERE   to
see some of her history.

Renae, the waitress, was all over the place, helping Larry and also serving the several audience members who sat at the tables on stage -- different group before and after the intermission break.
Some guy in the crowd - reportedly 1,000
were at each performance.  I wore the cap to
fend off the air conditioning - my insulation on
top is minimal any more!

Some more attendees

An enjoyable day.  This afternoon we attend a Jimmy Fortune performance before returning to Clay Cooper Theater to see another Larry's Diner show, this time with Rhonda Vincent.
