Still warm in the Rio Grande Valley

81º here in La Feria, TX at 4:40 pm Thursday.  Been unusually warm for some time -- Friday predicted 88º for high but Saturday 68º and 61º on Sunday.

Seemingly we have been busy all week.

Saturday morning Tom & Lisa Urban, along with helpers, put on a breakfast at the Rec Hall

Monday morning we attended the
residents association meeting.

I spent several hours taking some small branches and a lot of leaves off the roof of the carport/Texas Room.

After some 4 years of not using the BBQ Grill I got it out and did some steaks.  I had used up the 20 lb. tank of propane on the trailer this summer, so now am setting one of the 30 lb. tanks by the grill when using it.

Well, it is now Friday evening 6:23 pm.  Suffered from interuptitus again.  Is now 81º.  Brownsville, TX, some 33 miles from us, tied a record high of 87º today going back to 1903 when that was reached before on this date.

Tuesday night we drove to McAllen, TX to one of the McAllen Community Concerts. Bridge and Wolak were featured.  One plays a computerized accordian and the other a claranet and they both play piano.  HERE is link to their story   and  HERE is a link to one of their videos  From that video link you can catch many of their other videos. by putting their names in the search bar above the video.  Very different, one is from Canada and the other from Poland.  I see by their schedule they are to be in Marshalltown, IA, Thursday, March 19, 2026,   Bridge & Wolak’s SCANDALOUS ROMANTICS Marshalltown High School Auditorium, 1602 South 2nd Avenue, Marshalltown, IA 50158 I think you would enjoy it if you are in Eastern Iowa, only 59 miles from Marengo, IA.

This last Monday we went to Gatti's Pizza in Weslaco-- played bingo for 45 minutes or so and then all dined.

Tuesday we took Bobbi who came from Brownsville, with us and picked up Lori at Snow to Sun in Weslaco and went to our Weekly barbershop chorus practice.  Only one more practice until our first performance!  Have a fair number of people, but some of the ones who joined this year can't read music, and can't sing.  Director never turns anyone away, but hope he makes a few exceptions.

This is the latest Poster I have made
for the barbershop chorus.

Played Bean Bag Baseball last evening

Well Phyllis lost her golf cart until about the 10th of March....her cousin, who owns it, arrived in the Valley and will use it in their park way oveer west in Mission, TX until then.  They can't store it there so we store it and Phyllis gets to use it.
But, I talked with Dan Perez, who lives several units west of us and he is loaning Phyllis his golf cart.  I still ride my recumbent trike all I can.
The trailer he rented wasn't long enough, so had to tie up the tailgate.
Hope they made it to their park, haven't heard any different.

Till later, Lynn
