Fourth of July Weekend - 2021

86º in La Feria, TX and 81º here in Clarinda, IA now at 10:18 am Monday.

Click photos to enlarge.

Spent Saturday, July 3rd, in Marengo, IA visiting with kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Getting ready to head out from Ashley's place to the square where the Marengo July 3rd Celebration was being held.

We walked through their Car Show area.  A great many cars on display.

Jessica waiting for her participating in the "Little Miss Marengo" contest.

Jessica answering her question of "what would you do to improve the world?"  They asked some really dome questions of five-year old's.

One of the other girls in her age-group was chosen.

3.5 month-old David was pretty relaxed during much of the day.

Setting up chairs in the shade for the 6 pm parade.

The 6 pm parade turned into the 6:30 pm parade as the police had to have two cars parked on the parade route towed away, one being near where we were sitting.

Jessica keeping great grandma occupied while waiting for the parade.

Our son, Cameron, led the parade, carrying
the American Legion Flag as part of the
color guard.

Jessica, along with her cousin, aunt and grandma in the candy collection business during the parade.

Ashley was in the parade in behalf of her employer, Keystone Bank.

After the parade we walked back to Ashley & Heath's house where a picnic supper was had with most of Heath's parents, brothers and grandmother present.

Oh, have to put in a photo of the "Free Saunas" that were in the bright sun on the square.  You got relief and a good sweat if you were in there very long.

After eating, we walked a couple blocks to the field near the school where fireworks were set off.  This is a little whirly Jessica's grandpa bought her.

Spent the night at Cam's and left Sunday morning for the drive back to Clarinda.

Must put in here some photos I took from Facebook  --  last week my oldest Brother Roger's grandson, Stephen, and Steve's daughter Emma came to Nebraska and Colorado for a short visit from Germany.  All of Roger's family had a get together and posted these pictures.

Niece Angie had posted this photo the day before with her son Michael.

And, to finish off with some flowers.

Later, Lynn
