Some rain in the Valley

84 degrees here in La Feria, TX as I start this at 11:15 am.  See it is 55 degrees in Clarinda.

My view as I sit in the Texas Room where I can see the street - waiting for the "bug man" to come to spray under our mobile home and neighbor's mobile home for ants/bugs.  I read somewhere that an estimate was made that for each human on the planet there are 2.4 billion ants.  Some of them are near us!

This was my view - to the right - but I couldn't  keep connected to the internet, so moved back into the middle of the Texas Room so am closer to the router which is in the bedroom to the back of our mobile home.

Last night it cooled off some - was 72 overnight - and we opened bedroom window and shut off the A/C.  Back on this morning, though - to be up to 87 today and high humidity.  Prediction is for it to be in the upper 60's tonight and then cooler the rest of the week with chances of rain about every day.

Well, I took about an hour break in the middle of that last sentence.  The bug man with his son showed up and sprayed down all the yard area (where we had signs of fire ants) as well as under the mobile home and inside.  For less than $48 think we get good coverage of the little buggers.

The two Snipers ( Father & Son) spraying down the yard behind our neighbor Neher's place.

While I was in the back yard to take picture of the Bug guys, I took this picture of the bougainvillea flower - it is flowered out on the top and on the side of the fence away from us.

When riding the bike yesterday I took some pictures around the park.  At right is the main office and rec hall with the new coloring of the new (last fall) owners RHP.

Below are photos taken around the park showing all the open spaces for RV's.  Hope they fill up this winter - many wait until after Thanksgiving.

Swimming pool at right - empty lots to left

This last photo is looking towards the west with the swimming pool in the center.  Lots of empty spots.

I made up my mind about a week ago that I wasn't going to do any gardening.  Even though we had brought two of the plastic buckets used by cattle for liquid molasses it didn't seem worth it this year.
Then, Saturday we went to Grimsell's in Harlingen and bought tomato plants.  So, I went ahead and planted them along with peas, spinach and lettuce seeds I brought from Clarinda.
Put them in potting soil.

I took this picture before I got the front screwed to the side pieces - straight up and down.  This will keep the birds from messing with these plants.

Saturday morning we went to downtown Harlingen to Market Days

Didn't buy anything, but the 5 blocks or so of vendors had a variety of offerings.

It was only a block or so to get the tomato plants at  Grimsell's

Friday we, Winslows and Finkens went to  Nana’s Tacqueria CLICK HERE FOR WEBSITE   at the east edge of Weslaco.  This is a Mexican restaurant that Jan and Lynn Freye recommended last winter win they were down here.
Phyllis got the Lonchos Comb o

Nana's Big Taco
We will definitely eat there again.
Well it is now 4:17 pm and we had a big rain here in the park.  Water standing.  Is now 75 degrees outside and the lights have been flickering 3 or 4 times, but have come back on.  Will see if this will upload.
Later, Lynn
