November is here

75º at 8:00 am here in La Feria, TX  Predicted high of 91º for the day.  Saw 91º on car temp yesterday afternoon.

This was planted 5 years ago as 11" tall cactus.  Wow has it grown!
It is just outside our bedroom window at the corner of our house.
Took this picture of sign I was parked by waiting to pick up neighbors Marion & Ardel Finken at the Harlingen airport.  There was very little traffic even though a plane from Houston was arriving so I, and couple other people, parked by this sign, staying in our vehicles - with motor running, was 93º on the truck thermometer, waiting while Phyllis went inside to met the Finkens.  They had their car shipped down and it arrived last evening so they have wheels again.  He is to have a pace-maker put in within the next few days and his doctor/family didn't want them driving down.

One trike all together - one more to go

Got the first wheel on
Took better part of a day, interspersed with other activities, to put the two trikes back together.  Had completely broken them down to maximize space for travel down here.  Had a lot of fabric packed around them which Phyllis was bringing to the valley for the quilting ladies.

Used tail gate of the pickup for a work bench.
One wheel left to put on - then the seat and basket behind.
Trimmed the lower
branches of this tree

Cactus all bloomed out.

We only have 2 windows with awnings to put up.

The awning raised up for the winter

After getting our blood draw for doctors appointment
yesterday, we had breakfast at What-A-Burger

Got supplies and groceries at Walmart

Also got groceries at El Centro just down the street
from Kenwood RV Park

Yesterday we went to Lowes and got water filter replacements for the kitchen sink, and a new digital thermostat for our furnace/Air Conditioner.  Also picked up thermostat wire so am moving it out of the corner behind my recliner chair over to a spot on the wall more easily reached.

Opened up Winslow's house yesterday and hosed down the car and the side of their house.  Will pick them up at Harlingen Airport at 4:00 pm today.

More later, Lynn
