Third week in May

78 degrees at 10:45 am on Thursday - bright sunshine with predicted high of 90 degrees today.

I fixed an omelet for breakfast this morning.

Cleaned up all the deposit-cans we had and took them to the redemption center.

Couple of the Saturday Evening Posts I bought when we were on our trip in an antique mall.  I have always enjoyed reading the stories in these magazines.  Recall back in the 1950's when I would get in trouble while watching the irrigation ditch water because I would be sidelined reading a magazine when we had a "break out" on the ditch and it got too big because I wasn't paying attention and we would have a "wash out".  In fact, one time I got in trouble because Dad had to take the old 1940-something Chevy coupe we used like a pickup into the mechanics because the windshield wipers wouldn't work.  They found the Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, or Look magazine I had jammed up under the dash to hide it, not realizing the mechanical arms to the windshield wipers were under there and it jammed them.  I believe I was always considered a responsible kid when I was young----when anything went haywire I was usually responsible!

Just got done mowing the lawn yesterday.

Cleaned out the gutter on the east side of the shop building yesterday.  All the Maple seeds dropping now were just starting to sprout.  Gunk was thrown on the ground.

Trimmed everything below 7 feet from the ground on the cedar tree behind the shop building.  Was mostly dead stuff there.  Then I climbed the ladder and trimmed the branches that were rubbing the metal building.

Salad I put together yesterday noon.

Peonies are on the verge of blooming.

Filled one of the propane tanks on the travel trailer.  Should be ready to use the trailer in a couple weeks for a weekend visit to Neher's near Hiawatha, Knsas.

Have donated blood fairly regularly for last few years.  Had unusual event Tuesday when donating.  Gal had inserted the needle and blood started to flow when she adjusted the position of the needle just a bit.  If you can imagine a half of an egg laying on it's side -- that was the size of the swelling in just a few seconds.  They stopped, took out the needle and applied ice.  Then switched to the other arm.  They were just lucky I had brought both arms with me.

The little Maple "helicopter" seeds have been flying lately.

Phyllis had
just started trimming
the hedge in front of
the picture window
when I was leaving
on the Trike for a ride.

I have a pretty good
telephoto lens on my
camera.  This photo was
taken from the east
side of the hospital,
probably about a city
block away.

GROANER'S CORNER:((
 - Hello! Gordon's pizza?

- No sir it's Google's pizza.

- So it's a wrong number? Sorry.......
- No sir, Google bought it.

- OK. Take my order please.
- Well sir, you want the usual?

- The usual? You know me?
- According to our caller ID data sheet, in the last 12 times you ordered pizza with cheeses, sausage, and thick crust.  May I suggest to you this time ricotta, arugula with dry tomato.?

- What? I hate vegetables.
- Your cholesterol is not good, sir.

- How do you know?
- We crossed the number of your fixed line with your name, through the subscriber’s guide.  We have the result of your blood tests for the last 7 years.

- Okay, but I do not want this pizza because I already take medicine.
-Excuse me, but you have not taken the medicine regularly.  From our commercial database, 4 months ago, you only purchased a box with 30 cholesterol tablets at 'DrugSale Network'.

- I bought more from another drugstore.
- It's not showing on your credit card statement.

- I paid in cash.
- But you did not withdraw that much cash according to your bank statement.

- I have other sources of cash.
- This is not showing as per your last Tax form unless you bought them from an undeclared income source.

-WHAT THE HELL?
- I'm sorry sir, we use such information only with the intention of helping you.

- Enough! I'm sick of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. I'm going to an Island without internet, cable TV, where there is no cell phone line and no one to watch me or spy on me.

- I understand sir but you need to renew your passport first as it expired 5 weeks ago..........

 Till 'nuther time, LC
