Last of February for this year

77º with high humidity - to get to 83º today.

Yesterday was the 3-Park Party with Kenwood RV joining Snow to Sun and Casa De Valle with nearly 600 people at a city park in Weslaco, TX..

First time they tried this and since it took nearly 2 hours to serve the Pulled Pork or Brisket with either cole slaw or potato salad and water, I am wondering if they will do it again..  Sitting outside, with many in the sun, waiting for their table to be called made several say they would not come back if it was tried again.  Phyllis worked all day there, helping get tables, etc. set up in the morning, checking people in from our park, and helping where she could, etc., etc.

Part of the never-ending food line.
I did manage to win a $5 gift card from Dollar General by being first up to show I had a flashlight on me.

Here are the exercises we do every morning at 8 am.  You can go to HERE  to watch the video and exercise with it.

Took Patty to the airport Tuesday morning.  She had more than a 3 hour wait in Houston for the last flight to Kansas City.  Got in there after 7 pm instead of around 4:30 pm.  Was very cold, especially compared to the 70's we had been having here.

Tuesday we had a short joint practice with the Sweet Adelines
for our Next-Saturday joint concert.

Photo taken 2-23-19 of all celebrating 50 years or more of marriage.
Going to Meet & Greet in a bit where Nebraska people will tell about their state.  They bought Runza sandwiches last fall and froze them before coming down and will serve them as a product of Nebraska.  We have the boat ride from South Padre Island west to Brownsville and  back tomorrow, dress rehearsal practice for me and the Barbershop group with the Sweet Adelines in San Juan tomorrow night, the concert there Saturday afternoon and another concert in McAllen on Sunday.  Oh, and have a yard sale here in the park Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

Monday

62º with heavy overcast in La Feria, TX at 10:00 am Monday as I start this.  Realize haven't posted for a few days, so here goes--
In Progreso, Mexico Saturday - this thing is probably
3 feet high by 30" wide by 3 feet front to back.
Have no idea why anyone would want to hang
this in their house, shop, business, etc.

Getting a shoe shine in Mexico

This store had a lot of painted benches and chairs.
Ran from $300 to $600

More shopping in Progreso

Spent several hours in  Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas,
Mexico  on Saturday, I followed to ladies who looked in many stores, and did purchase some items.  We ate at Arturo's Bar & Grill there.
Patty & Phyllis at the table

They had a man playing the piano during the lunch hour
Well, it is 8:30 at night and I guess I strayed away from this.  Will close up and add something else when I get around to it.

Our Grandson-in Law Heath

This quartet from my Barbershop Chorus sang for our 50th Wedding celebration at Kenwood.
Taking Patty to the plane in the morning and she will be back in snow-land of SW Iowa by tomorrow night.

Thursday

61 degrees with heavy overcast at 11:00 am Thursday in La Feria.
Our cactus along the back fence is blooming

Had Pegs & Jokers at our place last evening.

Started the somewhat laborious, hand poking
job of trimming off the lower leaves of this cactus.

Phyllis got a little write-up about the quilt show in the
Welcome Home RGV paper

Tuesday evening the fisherman in the park put on a fish fry for some of the park residents.  All you could eat fish and hush puppys, plus most brought desert, salads, beans, etc.

Caught Kathy laughing at me (or was she yelling?)

Have special practice for the lead section of the barbershop chorus tomorrow over at McAllen.  Am having to pick up some tickets for the March 2nd event from some others who couldn't get theirs sold.
They are having a special day for the radio controlled race cars tomorrow with hot-dogs and special races.

"Paint" by numbers - on the smartphone

Recent weeks I got into several apps of paint by numbers and Phyllis also picked up on it.  Our phones are tied together, so saved pictures...
