Labor Day 2018

78º here in Clarinda, IA with heavy overcast and rain to the west at 8:00 pm Monday.  Dumped another 2" of rain from gauge this morning, making just under 4.5" in last two days -- and prediction is 100% for rain tomorrow.  Click on photos to enlarge.

At left shows the rain drops hanging onto the tree to the west of our bedroom as I was driving under it with the lawnmower mid-day.  Was wet, but prediction was for rain to move back in by 3 pm.  Didn't do it, but radar shows rain to the west right now.

This Prostrate Spurge is really a bother.

Another 5-gallon bucket full of what I pulled.

Phyllis pulled the tomato plants (had some fried green
tomatoes for supper) and cages for the season.

Late this afternoon the sun was out bright and these
Black-eyed Susans were brighter than the picture shows.
Last night, after the quick 2" hard rain, we set the trailer back in front of the shop and have it hooked up to electricity with some things still in the refrigerator.  Will probably take off soon and will be somewhat ready.

Have spent much of today putting more music on the Flash Drive for the pickup and also making more Video DVDs.  Had our Dish box quit Sunday evening and won't get a new one until it is UPS'd later in the week, so are looking at DVD's for evening TV entertainment.

There are a lot of sides to stories and John McCain certainly had several sides to his.  If he hadn't been the son of a Navy Admiral he would not have been celebrated like he was.  Of course, our Socialistic Democratic News reporting didn't even report that Air Force 2 was used and all they could do was bring up the political bickering during the funeral.
Here are some videos that contradict much of McCain's glory - John McCain                                More on John McCain

GROANER’S CORNER:((  If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat?

Don`t think that you're thinking. If you think that you're thinking you only think that you're thinking.

When I erase a word with a pencil, where does it go?

If a train station is where a train stops, what is a workstation?

Why is it, when a door is open it's ajar, but when a jar is open, it's not adoor?

If you jogged backward . . .would you gain weight?

Being rich don't mean so much . Just look at Henry Ford, all those millions and he never even owned a Cadillac!

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency. Wouldn’t a good response be to write . . . A Good Doctor!
