Fantastic weather

82º at 12:30 pm in Clarinda Thursday- marvelous day - just what we want all summer.

Well it is now 63º in Clarinda at 12:00 Noon Friday.  Had a little rain in the night, but not measurable in the rain gauge I finally found and put up.  Yes, I started this yesterday and got sidetracked.  Will see what stuff I can come up with from last few days.  Click on photos to enlarge.

Tuesday evening we went to J Bruner's for supper.  Beth had gone to a Yoga class with the lady on the left in this photo.  Phyllis remembered her from when we worked the elevator in Coin and this lady lived there (as a little girl), but I can't remember her name.

Waitress was friend and caught up with Beth's news.

Lost a shear pin on the
drive shaft - replaced with
new here (at cotter-key)

With showers lately, the grass keeps
growing - had to mow the lawn Wednesday

Phyllis planting her flowers.

Leaves filling out more.

Neighbor's house has disappeared behind the trees

Phyllis put flowers around the tomatoes.

Tuesday morning the hospital had a breakfast for the public
in their ambulance sheds across the street from us.

The pancake man made a lot at once.  He tossed some to
kids to catch with their plates.

They served from 6 to 9 am and there was a continuous crowd

We rode with Steve & Beth down to

Clearmont, Missouri where they bought some flowers.

Went to cemetery just outside Clearmont where they decorated
gravestones of Steve's family.

Steve found some asparagus plants in the fence line.

Searching for the asparagus

Ate lunch at the Q in Clearmont.

Good food.  Guy has run it for 12 years, said
he moved here from Las Vegas.

The Q Restaurant - Clearmont, MO
This was taken off the Internet (thee wasn't any snow on the
ground the day we were there).  Restaurant
was established in a house.

Wednesday evening choir practice.

Fella in the red shirt had a birthday and brought cupcakes.

Later Wednesday evening went to the "last" dance of
Clarinda Circle 8 Square Dance Club.

After the dance they met and decided to continue for one
more year, with dues and entrance fees raised and also
to discontinue performing at nursing homes.
Been eating lunch on the patio.  However, a bit cool today
to do that.

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A little girl was in church with her mother when she started feeling ill. "Mommy," she said, "can we leave now?""No," her mother replied."Well, I think I have to throw up!" exclaimed the girl."Then go out the front door and around to the back of the church and throw up behind a bush," said her mother. After about sixty seconds, the little girl returned to her seat. "Did you throw up?" her mother asked. "Yes," the little girl replied."How could you have gone all the way to the back of the church and returned so quickly?" her mother asked."I didn't have to go out of the church, Mommy. They have a box next to the front door that says, 'For the Sick.'"
