Saturday morning had breakfast at the Rec Hall

AH!  First sighting of the sun in over a week.

Phyllis, as Activity Director, had been working for many weeks on organizing a 2-hour boat trip along with a meal at the Riverside Club southwest of Mission, Texas.  Saturday was the day!  Everyone was early for the 11:30 meeting and meal was being served before the scheduled 12 Noon time.  Some 46 people from Kenwood RV Park attended.

This is our boat, going by with a an earlier group.

Started boarding shortly before 1 pm.

Map of where we were - just southwest of  McAllen and
south of Mission, TX.  Blue shows about where we went
both upstream and downstream.  Red is Riverside Club.
Some monkeys in a cage on the Mexican side of the river

Private property where they are working on a wall
along the river.

Coming up to the dam on the river - as far as we could
go down river.

At the dam - driver said the floating items in front of us just went up recently.
He used to be able to go up to the dam and you could look over.  Said the Illegals
use the floats as a bridge and walk across the river.

A lookout tower for the Border Patrol on the US side right by
Chimney RV Campground

Some rough areas on the Mexican side

Irrigation pumps pulling water out on the Texas side. They are metered and
they pay for the water just like the ones who are on the irrigation canals.

A fancy water fall at a "private recreation area" on Mexican side

Coming back to the Riverside Club dock
Got Pelican mounted on larger chunk of

They performed at the Rec Hall last night.  Quite an enjoyable
show.  Both play well, but Freddie is as good a guitar player
as you will find - Chet Atkins like.

Attended part of the Spanish Class this morning.

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A couple was dining out when the wife noticed a familiar face at the bar. She recognized him as an old flame.  "Honey," she said to her husband, as she pointed out the man, "that guy at the bar has been drinking like that since I left him seven years ago."  Her husband said, "That's silly, no one celebrates that much!"

A young Technician and his General Manager board a train headed through the mountains on its way to Wichita. They can find no place to sit except for two seats right across the aisle from a young woman and her grandmother.   After a while, it is obvious that the young woman and the young tech are interested in each other, because they are giving each other looks.   Soon the train passes into a tunnel and it is pitch black. There is a sound of a kiss followed by the sound of a slap. When the train emerges from the tunnel, the four sit there without saying a word.  The grandmother is thinking to herself, "It was very brash for that young man to kiss my granddaughter, but I'm glad she slapped him."  The General manager is setting there thinking, "I didn't know the young tech was brave enough to kiss the girl, but I sure wish she hadn't missed him when she slapped and hit me!"  The young woman was sitting and thinking, "I'm glad the guy kissed me, but I wish my grandmother had not slapped him!"  The young tech sat there with a satisfied smile on his face. He thought to himself, "Life is good. How often does a guy have the chance to kiss a beautiful girl and slap his General manager all at the same time!"
