Some Iceland photos.

66º here in Clarinda, IA at 8:45 am on Tuesday.  Predicted high of 79º.

Drove to Lincoln, NE yesterday to give a blood sample for the kidney test I am in following the heart surgery in June.  Did a little shopping in Lincoln and were back home by 3:30 or so in the afternoon.  Phyllis mowed the lawn - I did some computer work, getting ready to leave for our month trip later this week.

Got several photos from Cam & Patty.  They are in Iceland now, but will be going to Greenland tomorrow and spend next 7 days on a 3-masted  boat with 10 other passengers and, I think, 3 crew.

Right now it is 2:03 pm in Greenland and the temperature
is 46º, which is the high for the day.
Our friends Bill & Kathy Connelly from near Salina, KS will be here with the 5th wheel this afternoon and will spend time here until Friday when we will both pull our trailers to near Indianola, IA where we will watch the National Balloon Festival until Sunday.

Went to Anita, IA

85º at 7:00 pm Saturday, with a "feel like" of 90º.  Had a few days of low humidity, but it is creeping back.
Bob Everhart, who runs the Oak Tree Opry, making
announcments.

Last night - Friday - we took Judy Heuer and Pat Steckelberg with us to Atlantic where we had supper at Pizza Ranch and then on to Anita, IA to the Oak Tree Opry.  It started at 7 with 3 guys playing and then after about an hour Terry Smith from Nashville played the main program.  We have followed Terry in the Rio Grande Valley and here in Iowa for years.
Here are some videos I took last night - Click HERE

Spent some time at the Page County Fair, here in
Clarinda, Thursday evening.  This is our neighbor when we
lived west of Clarinda before moving here in 2010

Quite a rainbow - actually a second
one came out a little later.

Did 6 miles on the recumbent trike yesterday.  This was
one place on my route.

Today did 7 miles on the trike, much of it at the airport.
Al & Carolyn Rudy, from Shenandoah, came Wednesday evening
and we ate at Jay's Pizza & Steak House then played some
Pegs & Jokers on the deck.
Not any airplanes out of their hangers this morning while
getting my 7 miles in.

With humidity and temp down, we have eaten on
the back deck many times last few days.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Continuing the current trend of large-scale mergers and acquisitions, it was announced today at a press conference that Christmas and Hanukkah will merge.  An industry source said that the deal had been in the works about 1300 years.  While details were not available at press time, it is believed that the overhead cost of having twelve days of Christmas and eight days of Hanukkah was becoming prohibitive for both sides. By combining forces, we're told, the world will be able to enjoy consistently high-quality service during the Fifteen Days of Chrismukah, as the new holiday is being called.  Massive layoffs are expected, with lords a-leaping and maids a-milking being the hardest hit.  As part of the conditions of the agreement, the letters on the dreidel, currently in Hebrew, will be replaced by Latin, thus becoming unintelligible to a wider audience.  Also, instead of translating to "A great miracle happened there," the message on the dreidel will be the more generic: "Miraculous stuff happens." In exchange, it is believed that Jews will be allowed to use Santa Claus and his vast merchandising resources for buying and delivering their gifts.  One of the sticking points holding up the agreement for at least three hundred years was the question of whether Jewish children could leave milk and cookies for Santa even after having eaten meat for dinner.  A breakthrough came last year, when Oreos were finally declared to be Kosher.  All sides appeared happy about this.  Fortunately for all concerned, he said, Kwanzaa will help to maintain the competitive balance.  He then closed the press conference by leading all present in a rousing rendition of "Oy Vey, All Ye Faithful."

Monday evening we took Pizzas and a Cherry Pie over to
Jim & Evelyn Whipple's place here in town.  They were
neighbors to us in the country for 38 years.  Another
neighbor, Marcene Von Dilligan, came in also.

Maybe too many pictures, but I enjoyed them.

"Paint" by numbers - on the smartphone

Recent weeks I got into several apps of paint by numbers and Phyllis also picked up on it.  Our phones are tied together, so saved pictures...
