Our Seventh Day on the road -- State Center, IA

 An overcast day here in State Center, IA on Thursday.

On Wednesday Roberta came from Illinois, brought by a son of Bud's.

Roberta brought this cake -- big enough to feed all of us 3 or 4 times.

More eating & Visiting.

Dan & Jo joined us for the

day Wednesday.

Have had the best sweet corn here.  In this photo Dick & Jerry pose beside the unit they cook the corn with.  30-some ears each meal.

Always enjoyed the meals.

'Nuther day at State Center, IA with the Kenwood RV Park group

 75º here in State Center, IA at 9:35 am on Wednesday.  Fortunate that the humidity has not been high and the temperatures reasonable.

Yesterday afternoon was visiting in the building.

I set up my computer with the photos of all the get togethers at State Center since 2010 (except 2013 which we missed).

Last night was our first meal together at the building.  It included homemade Maid-Rites and lots of the sweet corn from Lola's farm, and some fresh tomatoes.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A guy was driving home one evening when he suddenly realizes that it is his daughter's birthday and that he hasn't bought her anything. Out the corner of his eye he sees a shopping mall. Knowing it was "now or never", he pulls his car through three lanes of traffic, finds a parking bay and runs into the mall.  After a frantic search he finds a toy store, goes inside and attracts the attention of a shop assistant. When asked what he would like, he simply says "a Barbie doll".  The shop assistant looks at him in the particularly condescending manner that only shop assistants can muster up and asks "Which Barbie would that be, sir?"  The man looks surprised so the assistant continues "We have Barbie Goes the Gym for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Ball for $19.95, Barbie Goes Shopping for $19.95, Barbie Goes to the Beach for $19.95, Barbie Goes Night Clubbing for $19.95, and Divorced Barbie for $265.00".  The man can't help himself and asks "why is Divorced Barbie $265.00 when all the other Barbies are selling for $19.95?"  "That's obvious!" the assistant exclaims, "Divorced Barbie comes with Ken's house, Ken's car, Ken's furniture ....

In State Center, IA

 In State Center - 55 degrees low for the morning Tuesday.

Many have arrived here at State Center, IA for the 2021 Kenwood RV Park summer rally.  Last night we drove to Marshalltown where we ate supper at the Pizza Ranch.  Afterwards several games were set up in the hall.

I will try to post again tomorrow and have all my computer stuff with me so can spend more time describing the photos.

Third day on our road trip

 73º here in State Center, IA at 7:24 pm Sunday here in Kelso Park (Lola Schoppe's place) at State Center, IA at 7:24 pm Sunday

We arrived here from Marengo about 3 pm and set up to the northwest of the west entrance to the building we will be meeting in this week as Kenwood RV Park members meet.  Official meeting is to start Tuesday, but Lillian and Gerald Witt, from Ohio are here as are Deane and Dick Messer from Minnesota.  After we arrived and set up our unit, Linda and Orville Crane from Wisconsin came in.  Ed Stanger had arrived yesterday and set up his trailer and left this morning--to attend a funeral tomorrow and return here tomorrow evening.

Saturday afternoon we had gone with Cam & Patty to Kent Park a Campground in Johnson County, Iowa and walked around a lake there.

  

Then stopped at a few stores in Coralville and then to Emmy's new apartment in Iowa City where her boyfriend Derek soon joined us and then Heath, Ashley with Jessica and David.  Some delightful barbeque was brought in and visited over supper.
