Hot and humid - then rain overnight

77º with overcast skies here in Clarinda, IA at 11:15 am.  Received 1 inch of rain in our gauge in a pretty good sized storm early this morning (like 3-5 am).

Got these photos from Melissa Miles' Facebook page.  They were on a trip to |Italy recently.  Emma had her 4th birthday on the 21st of June, just two days ahead of our great granddaughter Jessica.  Emma is the great granddaughter of my brother Roger's.

Couple photos of our great granddaughter, Jessica, sent by her mother.  She is always happy, it seems.

Used the new burner barrel out at the farm yesterday.  Took a bit of time, but beats the $125 we would pay during the summer to have trash hauled off.

Couple tomatoes turning red.

Many green tomatoes this plant

Some of my terracing work
Here is letter on all the photos I have worked up for the Kenwood RV Park summer rally at State Center, IA (that has been cancelled for this year) to the Kenwood people who had attended:

I have completed uploading the 2,240 photos that I took at the nine Rallies we attended.  Have not had anyone offer photos from 2013; however, I have contacted the newspaper in State Center to see if they will forward me photo from that year.  If any of you can provide photos from 2013 I will make up an album.

2010 – 156 photos.  That year we toured the old grocery museum, school house uptown.

2011 – 267 photos.   We barbequed and played bean bag baseball on the north side of the building

2012 – 150 photos.  We toured the John Deere Works in Ankeny that year where they made cotton pickers.

2013 – 000 photos   Phyllis & I were on our 5.5 month RV trip celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary

2014 – 232 photos.  We toured the Emerson-Fisher valve plant that Denny Arment retired from working.

2015 – 345 photos.  We went in June and attended the Iowa Rose Festival there in State Center

2016 – 315 photos.   We went to the Matchstick Marvels Museum in Gladbrook, IA

2017 – 495 photos.   We toured Reiman Gardens in Ames, IA

2018 – 75 photos   We rode the train and toured  museum at  Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad and James Andrew RR Museum

2019 – 205 photos  We toured Maytag Blue Cheese products in Newton, IA – and Bill Oberholzer’s celebration of Life in Boone, IA

Most every year, except in June of 2015, we picked sweet corn on Lola’s farm and enjoyed feasting on it and her tomatoes.

When I started this project, I had no idea it would take as much time (something over 30 hours) and have the problems with the uploading to the website and then being able to get the right links.  Hope everyone enjoys.

Thanks,  Lynn Miles

Am spending some time trying to sort and scan material from the barbershop chorus Men Of A-Chord materials I was given (from over 15 years) trying to work up what can be uploaded to our website (http://www.barbershoptx.com/) for some history of the organization.

Later, Lynn
