Warmer weather

52º with bright sunshine here in Clarinda at 10:30 am Thursday - to get to 71º today and 80º tomorrow. Had been below freezing most nights recently.  Now nice weather to take all the things off back deck and get all flower pots, etc. taken care of.  Put away the bird bath, swinging bench on deck, and all flowers from front of house already.

Plan on pulling out with trailer next Wednesday.

I just tried to work outside and found millions of "lady bugs"

Fun times with family and friends.

41 degrees with bright sunshine in Clarinda, IA at 5:15 pm Tuesday.  I will do a bit of a post, because have been busy and with several hundred pictures taken over last few days am not caught up.

We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday early morning at our son Cam's in Marengo, IA.  Arrived home in time for Doris Winter & her daughter Kate Glor from Minnesota to arrive at our place Sunday afternoon.

They started to visit a bit on the deck out back, but the cool air sent them back inside.

After some pizza for supper we did some pegs & jokers to warm up for playing with the Neher's on Monday.

We actually met Neher's at a restaurant in Highland, Kansas -- about 12 miles east of their house -- and then got down to business when at their house with Harold's favorite past-time, Pegs & Jokers.

Will put a few pictures from many taken with the kids, grandkids and great-grandkids Friday evening, and Saturday.

With our great-granddaughter, Jessica, six years old and our great-grandson, David about 20 months old, there was a lot of activity and they were both a blur of activity.  They are in great health and attitude, so that is good!

Pizza for supper on
Friday night.

Wish I had even a tenth of her energy!

Me, with son Cameron to my right and grand-son-in-law Heath to my left.

Will get more of the photos worked up and

maybe post another time.  Was down to 19 degrees much of last night, and to freeze again tonight.  Have drained water from the trailer, but not flushed; hoping it will be okay until we head south.

Mid October

63 degrees and overcast in Clarinda at 4:40 pm.

Every day since we got back from Texas in late March we have a doctor who always parks on the street in front of our house.  The hospital, across the street, added many, many parking spaces when they expanded their lots last year, and they are never full, but he parks here.

I have been enjoying fried green tomatoes
the last few days.  The mild frost last week didn't get one of our tomato plants and we are still getting a few red ones from it.  Lots of green ones on it, though and will take remaining ones off the plant before we leave Friday.
To freeze Sunday morning and again Monday morning.

With our leaving in about two weeks, starting to do the things necessary to close up this place.  Did the gutter cleaning on the east side of the shop today, and covered the outside Air Conditioner unit.

Boards ready to cover the pit by the basement window.

Will be going to Marengo this Friday.

Finish up on our 2022 Branson Trip

64 degrees with bright sunshine at 11:30 am Sunday in Clarinda, IA.  Had nice weather all week when in Branson and yesterday driving the 351 miles between Ozark Country Campground in Branson and our driveway.

Have to post some more photos of Jimmy Fortune show; these taken by someone from a different spot in the auditorium.

Friday afternoon we drove around part of Branson and out to Table Rock Lake where the Branson Belle Showboat docks.

Friday evening we went to our last Larry's Country Diner show in Branson.  The Malpass Brothers were on the show along with Leona Williams..  Click HERE for Wikipedia on her.  She was born just 6 months before me, was with Loreta Lynn when she first started, wrote many songs and performed with Merle Haggard for many years and was married to him from 1978 to 1983.

The Malpass Brothers opened shows for Merle Haggard for many years Click HERE for story on the Malpass Brothers.

The three of them sang many songs that Leona had written, and many that Merle Haggard had sung.

A really good show.

Our setup for the 5 nights in Branson.  We ate only 2 meals away from the trailer.  Restaurant prices seemed pretty high!

This morning after getting

home from church and singing

in the choir.

We head to eastern Iowa this Friday to

spend weekend with the kids and family.
