Here goes nothing. If it blanks out this time it will be my last post of the blog.

The tree trimmer finally came yesterday and thinned out the huge Oak tree that is at the southwest of the house. With a tall bucket truck and several guys running the chain saws they took quick care of it.
The Goldwing Express Branson Bluegrass Festival was much larger than the one in Macon, MO. With the open-sided pavilion and the tent behind it, people were able to spread apart some, and the 3 or 4 times it rained we were under cover.
As you can see by the schedule, we had full days. They slipped in an extra Gospel group each morning, and with all the call-backs they all ran a little long. Was well after 9 pm the first two days when finished and after 10:00 pm the last day. We were not too far from our trailer and did take at least one break each day, either walking or taking the shuttles they provided.
for the four Goldwing Express cruises we took. |
On the way from Macon to Branson, MO we stopped in Springfield at Boot Daddy's. They are a major sponsor on Larry's Country Diner. Didn't buy any boots, but we each got a pair of casual shoes, and got to see one of the guys from the company who is on every Larry's Country Diner show.

One of the young men on Little Roy and Lizzy Show. |
Little Roy was short, and probably in his early 80's, but he was full of energy, bouncing all over the stage pulling all sorts of antics. |
Larry Efaw, from Ohio |
Larry Gillis and "Swamp Grass" from southern Georgia. |
This is the sponsoring band - Goldwing Express Shawn, Paul, Pops (Bob) and Steve Baldridge |
I just spent two hours posting photos and writing -- and this damned blogger swallowed it all up.
If I get in the mood again, I will do it all over.
69ยบ here in Branson, MO at 8:30 am Wednesday. Drove from Branson to Batesville, Mo yesterday. Phyllis had talked with Pat Smith on phone Monday and set up that she would drive the 40 miles from her place to Batesville and meet us for lunch yesterday at the Marshall Dry Goods company where Phyllis buys material for quilting nearly every year. We drove the 160 miles, getting there before 11 am and while she did her shopping I had oil changed in the pickup. At noon, no Pat so Phyllis called her. She was still at home -- had thought that Wednesday was the day to meet us, so would see us in Kenwood. We had a good Catfish lunch at Fred's Cat Fish in Batesville and drove back to our trailer in Branson.
in Batesville, MO Tuesday.

Branson - Tuesday.
Other than his long hair, this fellow in the Finley River Boys was a spittin' image of George Crawford of Clarinda.
Will move north to other RV Park in a bit. Took many photos not posted here. Also, got a lot of video that I will upload to my You Tube channel once I am at my desk back in Clarinda.
Is 45 degrees in Clarinda with the big cold front and rain moving through that area. Has been in the 90's or upper 80's here and no rain forecast until maybe Friday. This festival is to be all outdoors, so hope not too much of it gets rained out.
Later, Lynn
Will probably be off for a few days. In the morning (Thursday) we go for eye checkups and then take off, with the trailer, for Macon, MO. for a Bluegrass Festival that runs through Sunday noon, the 6th. Will then head to an RV Park in Branson, Mo -- where they have good WIFI -- Sunday night through Tuesday night. On Wednesday we move over to Treasure Lake RV Resort for the Goldwing Express Bluegrass Music Festival which will run through that Saturday night, the 12th.
So will do some driving - have trailer and pickup all loaded and we will stay in trailer tonight.
