Bluegrass Festival time

69º here in Branson, MO at 8:30 am Wednesday.  Drove from Branson to Batesville, Mo yesterday.  Phyllis had talked with Pat Smith on phone Monday and set up that she would drive the 40 miles from her place to Batesville and meet us for lunch yesterday at the Marshall Dry Goods company where Phyllis buys material for quilting nearly every year.  We drove the 160 miles, getting there before 11 am and while she did her shopping I had oil changed in the pickup.  At noon, no Pat so Phyllis called her.  She was still at home -- had thought that Wednesday was the day to meet us, so would see us in Kenwood.  We had a good Catfish lunch at Fred's Cat Fish in Batesville and drove back to our trailer in Branson.

Coming to Marshalls Dry Goods

in Batesville, MO Tuesday.

Morning sun in the fog as we left

Branson - Tuesday.

Our setup here in Branson, until moving today from Ozark Country Campground about 5 miles north to Treasure Lake RV where the Goldwing Express Bluegrass will start tomorrow morning.

We are at the northwest corner of this campground in a lot right up against the hill and trees.  Been a very quiet area.  Park was full when we came in Sunday

Last Thursday, after doing our annual eye checkup in Clarinda, we headed to Mecon, Missouri for their 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival.  Was well attended.  Only a few wearing masks, but there was a sign on the door that if you were ill to not come in, so suppose that covers anyone having Covid-19.  And most all kept distancing.  We had a good time, seeing and hearing a lot of old favorites and exposed for the first time to Finley River Boys from Springfield, MO.

Was quite hot while we were in Macon.  The main stage was in an air conditioned building with another stage under a roof outdoors.  We spent most of our time in the A/C.

Several couples danced during the three days.  This fellow danced with is wife some, but whenever there was a fast moving tune, he got up and did a fast moving jig all over the floor.

Other than his long hair, this fellow in the Finley River Boys was a spittin' image of George Crawford of Clarinda.

Will move north to other RV Park in a bit.   Took many photos not posted here.  Also, got a lot of video that I will upload to my You Tube channel once I am at my desk back in Clarinda.

Is 45 degrees in Clarinda with the big cold front and rain moving through that area.  Has been in the 90's or upper 80's here and no rain forecast until maybe Friday.  This festival is to be all outdoors, so hope not too much of it gets rained out.

Later, Lynn
