Bit of snow here!

You'd think the world was ending the way people are reacting to the snow falling outside right now at 9:00 am in La Feria, Texas - woke to temperature of 32.4 degrees and a skiff of snow; now is snowing pretty well.
About 8:30 am today

moved several years ago to different park.  Showing me

GROANER’S CORNER:((  There are currently 78 people named S. Claus living in the U.S. And one Kriss Kringle.
- December is the most popular month for nose jobs.
- Weight of Santa's sleigh loaded with one Beanie Baby for every kid on earth: 333,333 tons.  Number of reindeer required to pull a 333,333-ton sleigh: 214,206 -- plus Rudolph.
- Average wage of a mall Santa: $11 an hour.   With real beard: $20.
- To deliver his gifts in one night, Santa would have to make 822.6 visits per second, sleighing at 3,000 times
the speed of sound.  At that speed, Santa and his reindeer would burst into flames
instantaneously.

---------------------------------------------
What do Santa's little helpers learn at school?  The elf-abet!
What do you call a frozen elf hanging from the ceiling?  An elfcicle!
- Which of Santa’s reindeer have to mind their manners most?  Rude-olph!
What do you call Rudolph with lots of snow in his ears?  Anything you want, he can't hear you!
What did Santa ask Rudolph about the weather?  Is it going to rain dear?!
Why did the turkey join the band?  Because it had the drumsticks!
- What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire?  Frostbite!
I never believed in Santa Claus because I knew no white dude would come into my neighborhood after dark.
- There is a special place in hell for people that play Christmas music before Thanksgiving.

Cool down in the RGV

48ยบ with overcast skies here in La Feria, TX at 11:00 am Wednesday as I start this.  Bit of a change in weather - has been in the 80's the last week or so.  To be in the 40's the next several mornings!  Know that doesn't sound cold to you northerners, but it is certainly a change for us.

Last Sunday morning we went to Santa Rosa, about 6 miles
north of us (town of just under 3,000 population) for
breakfast.  This lady, Lupe, and her daughter own and run it.

Really small coffee shop in Santa Rosa
Waiting for our breakfast.  The daughter took this photo.

Phyllis thinks the daughter may own the restaurant.
Forgot her name.

Drove through some countryside to the west of Santa Rosa
and then on back south to our park.

Santa Rosa Cemetery on west edge of town.

Saw couple fields of these, weren't sure what they were.

Phyllis took a closer look, said most of the pods were
empty - thought maybe they were the sesame seeds we had
heard are grown in this area.

Neighbor Carol has had numerous roof repairs to her
shingles -- finally getting a new metal roof put over it.

Not many grapefruit left from what we picked 3-4 weeks ago

Texas room looks bigger when cleaned

Thought I had pictures of the yard sale stuff -- had quite a few things out and made some space when they were all gone.

GROANER’S CORNER:((  As a little girl climbed onto Santa's lap, Santa asked the usual, "And what would you like for Christmas?"  The child stared at him open mouthed and horrified for a minute, then gasped: "Didn't you get my E-mail?"
===============================

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.  "In honor of this holy season," Saint Peter said, "You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. "It represents a candle," he said. "You may pass through the pearly gates," Saint Peter said.  The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells." Saint Peter said, "You may pass through the pearly gates."  The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's glasses.  St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, "And just what do those symbolize?"  The man replied, "They're Carol’s."

GROANER’S CORNER:((   A guy goes to the psychiatrist.  "Doctor," says the guy, "I feel as if I'm many different people with totally different personalities!"  "Do you think I need help?"  "Can you help me?"  "Am I doing the right thing seeing a psychiatrist?"  "Whoah!" says the doc. "Please, one person at a time."
